F.A.Q - Events
Our quotes are created for a minimum of 4 consecutive hours. Our performers are selected for the quality of their work and their availability throughout each performance; therefore, they are hired for the whole day no matter the time they actually spend with the audience.
The performer’s time of attendance is more important than just the performance We have elected to handle parts of the additional work, such as visiting the location, preparation and, if needed, overnight stay, to avoid a botched performance with artists arriving already in full costume and make-up, tired after running from location to location. To sum it up: this ensures the performance is unique to your event.
4 consecutive hours per day with breaks = a block of 4 hours over a 12 hours period (for example: 2pm-6pm); during which the performer will take a few 5 to 10 minutes breaks (to drink or have a snack) when they feel like their work is no longer effective (too many people who do no care, not enough people present, the audience is less receptive, people just lingering in one place where they already have seen the performance)
No, waiting periods are also work for us (amongst other things, the performers have to stay in costume and make-up) Moreover, it is better to avoid long waiting periods, as they are tiring for the performer and visitors coming at the end of the day would not be provided with an optimal performance/ The performers handle their breaks based on the attendance and their energy through the half-day in order to provide the best performance possible at all time. This is why we have chosen to bill for 4 consecutive hours only; to guarantee the quality and affordability of our services. However, should you request it, we can send you a specific quote for longer performances.
This is not a show but a performance improvised while engaging with the audience. As such, we cannot give you the details you want because it does not work that way. The performers we hire are highly experienced with these type of performances and we fully trust their intuition and attention. We provide performing arts and each performance is different based on the audience present at the time (it can evolve in a matter of seconds when the performance is done in a location with lots of people and passage). So we cannot give you a guide of what will be mimed, when, how or give you a set number of times the performer will be with the audience. The performance lasts 4 hours and the performer will stay in contact with the audience as long as they need to engage that audience while not overstaying so that your guests are neither annoyed nor bored. A little break and let’s go.
Our company has existed for over 30 years and only works with highly skilled and experienced performers. Our performances are here to enhance your event and make the audience laugh, never to be an inconvenience. This being said, we are talking about a walkabout performance and, as such, performing arts, in some cases some people might get annoyed by the mere presence of performers on the site. We have dealt with situations where our performers have been yelled at and assaulted while doing nothing or just waling by somebody. Our performers are aware of what to do in those situations and deescalate them quickly. However, if you are afraid that your audience will not appreciate this type of performing arts, we do recommend you look for another type of performance.
No, we have a very precise set of rules when it comes to the presentation of our living statues and quality is of the utmost importance for us. Additionally, the make-up artist does more that just the make up, she handles the overall look of the living statue, with hair and costume, as well as the well-being of our mime artists.
Non, it is one make--up artist for 2 to 3 statue, depending on the costume and, in consequence, the required make-up.
Unfortunately because several hotel and restaurant managers have delivered less than acceptable services to our performance under the pretense of discount, we no longer let even organizers handle food and lodging, those will, however, remain transparent for you.
Yes, we can provide 4 statues in every combination of gender possible if requested long before the event.
Yes. “Le Bateau Ivre” is a show producer and owns a license as a live entertainment entrepreneur. You will simply receive an invoice and we will take care of contracts, cage slips, payroll, administrative declarations, social security contributions and insurances.
