First known as “The Little Tramp”, he was quickly called “The Tramp” by the audience. From 1914 and through his first ten movies, Charles Spencer Chaplin created his character that would ultimately become a world wide icon. He tried different shapes of mustaches, changed hats and shoesmany times. After two months of trials and errors, he finally made his choices and would keep the same costume, the same make-up and the same recognizable movements. Until world war II, Charles Chaplin would always appear on screen, with his little mustache, his cane , his oversized shoes and his naturally shabby walk...

Philippe Pillavoine fait revivre l’illustre Vagabond !

Philippe learned the art of mime with the legendary Marcel Marceau between 1993 and 1996. He started studying Chaplin’s character in 2004 while doing research to prepare for a musical based on the man who created "The Dictator" “The Dictator” . Unfortunately, that musical was never completed. But he used this study work to create “The Tramp” Roaming entertainment..
The character created by Charles Chaplin will always have a great relationship with every audience. He will delight spectators of all ages.” said Philippe. Since 2015, he has been working on creating a show based on the man with the big shoes. But that is a story for another time!
