Philippe Pillavoine a appris le Mime aux côtés du maître mime Marcel Marceau de 1993 à 1996. Il étudie le personnage créé par Chaplin en 2004 alors qu’il préparait des auditions pour une comédie musicale sur le réalisateur du Dictateur qui malheureusement n’a jamais vu le jour. Il a profité du travail d’étude entrepris pour créer « Charlot » Animation déambulatoire. Depuis il n’a cessé de perfectionner son interprétation.

The Tramp, alone
The Tramp, alone... Not so much. It is impossible not to recognize his emblematic shape, his cane, his bowler hat, his mustache and his over-sized shoes. His unique style is easily spotted even by the youngest generations. With an incredible power of recognition, this generous character, and his very personal honor code of chivalry, swings his cane in the air and reaps tremendous laughters, held back tears and shocked reactions for those who take pleasure in watching his silent comical tales.
The Tramp and a musician
By bringing a contrast to the visual genius of Chaplin’s expressions, the music always played a significant role in his filmography, he was himself a music lover then a practictionner and ultimately a composer of his own soundtracks. Our tribute had to have a musician! By accompanying the Tramp with contrasting music, by creating the mood of the improvised scene and by occasionally becoming the main character or even the soloist, the musician makes themselves essential for the comical precision of the tramp’s silly faces!
The Tramp and the Damsel
The tramp has always defended the dignity of the window and the orphan. As he boldly faces perils and hardships, sometimes bringing back justice unbeknownst to himself, his romance with the Damsel is a moment of peace in a world of perpetual trepidation. In this climax of the Tramp’s tales this “dream relationship in an ideal climate of good faith and healthy arrangements” will not be the sanctity of marriage but the starting point of out little scenes. Because love is never guaranteed, it is a constant fight, especially when Cupid is looking elsewhere!
The Tramp and the Copper
Au menu : poursuite effrénée et comédie burlesque autrement dit du slapstick dans la plus pure tradition ! Le slapstick est une sorte d’humour qui se distingue par son caractère absurde et sa tendance à l’exagération. Comme dans les films de Laurel et Hardy ainsi que ceux des Marx Brothers. L’expression vient de l’anglais « slap stick », qui signifie littéralement « bâton claqueur » et se réfère à une sorte d’instrument sonore, sans danger mais très bruyant, qui amplifie la portée des coups donnés. Elle tire son inspiration du « battocchio » employé par les artistes de rue en Italie. Il constitue en particulier un élément essentiel de l’humour burlesque.
